Fast Finality

Manta Pacific is integrating Symbiotic to implement fast finality into their rollup. Fast finality allows for much quicker transaction confirmations, enhancing user experience and enabling more efficient cross-chain communication. It utilizes cryptoeconomic security to shorten Manta Pacific's 3-day optimistic rollup finalization window to mere minutes.

The fast finality system works by having operators stake $MANTA tokens through Symbiotic's vault system. Operators then commit to specific blocks being final, with staked tokens serving as collateral against fraudulent commitments. The system verifies these commitments across a network of operators, and once sufficient stake weight has validated a block, it can be considered final. This removes the need to wait for the entire 7-day fraud proof window while maintaining strong security guarantees. Beyond Finality

Manta's fast finality implementation will be compatible with the OP Stack, pushing the entire L2 space forward, improving UX, increasing adoption, and lowering the barrier to utilize shared security for other rollups. This makes Manta Pacific the first OP Stack chain to enable native token staking for fast finality, setting a new standard in the ecosystem.
