Devnet is Live

After more than a year of research, development, and iteration, Symbiotic’s design is live on devnet. The mission started with a simple question: How can we make decentralization easier? Symbiotic’s focus on full sovereignty, maximum flexibility, and modularity gives builders and networks the tools to decentralize efficiently without compromises.

Any builder or network can now test the integration of restaking into their stack with Symbiotic’s feature-complete shared security sandbox environment. With this deployment, Symbiotic is the first shared security protocol on Ethereum to implement slashing and rewards architecture - key requirements for unlocking restaking’s full capabilities.

By setting a new standard for openness and neutrality with fully functional architecture, we've removed a major roadblock. Builders can now create the protocols originally promised with shared security with real cryptoeconomic security and complex slashing and reward mechanisms.

Building the framework is just the beginning. In addition to our rapidly growing ecosystem of builders, researchers, networks, and operators, we are also building out a comprehensive set of documentation and guides for every single role, starting with developer handbooks for networks and the vault system. If you’re interested in exploring more, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to us here.

With this devnet release, Symbiotic is one step closer to its full immutable mainnet deployment in Q3 2024, pending five independent full-scope audits from industry-leading security firms (Statemind, ChainSecurity, Zellic, OtterSec, and Certora). Starting today, anyone can now explore the vast design space that modular shared security unlocks.
